What's the book for December?

**We are going to add a little change for next meeting.  From this point forward, the lady hosting will be the book selector.  This will cut down on our confusion in book selection and everyone will get to select a book throughout the year!  So, Jill, get thinkin' :o)

October Meeting

We met this month to discuss our most recent read.  6 girls attended and we had a brief discussion of the book.  The reviews were mixed.  What did you think of the book?

A little encouragement

Just wanted to encourage you all in your reading!  We will me meeting again in about a month, and I'm already looking forward to the chocolate :)  I'm only about 30 pages into the book, but I plan to make a bigger dent this weekend.  I'm just now to the point where I'm interested in the characters.  I spoke with someone else this week who was at page 150 and was really enjoying it.  So, to you and to me, keep reading!  Have a great Saturday.

August Read

Erica Bauermeister's Website

A feel-good read phrased like a collection of short stories, The School of Essential Ingredients drew us in from the first chapter.  The author used beautiful language, and explored so many stages of life.  The characters ranged from the new mother, new love, lost love, death, dementia, betrayal, and coming of age.  It was the perfect first-read for our new club.  Looking forward to more good reading!

I'm new over here.

Welcome, welcome!

I wasn't sure of the best way for us to keep up with each other regarding the book club.  I've created a couple of options, and we will just see which works the best.  I know that, personally, I just get annoyed when millions of emails are flying around, so a blog (or something like that) is preferable to me.  I'm not gonna lie, it makes me nervous posting text which will be read by 2 English teachers and other educated women.  No judging my grammar girls!  :o)

I've also created a goodreads account.  I will send you an evite to join the group.  Log onto it as well and let me know which you like better.  We are all about convenience here.
